Grant has been kayaking and open canoeing for a very long time!
He started kayaking in the mid 70's and was ranked in Division 1 for both slalom and white water racing by the early 1980's.
In the 1990's, he developed a keen interest in coaching and worked his way through the BCU Coaching qualifications to become a BCU level 5 Coach. Most Summer holidays involve white water kayaking in the Alps and mountain biking (his second passion).
Last year he introduced his son Tom to grade 4 white water kayaking on the river Isere in the Northern French Alps.
He is a qualified white water coach in both kayaking and open canoeing.
Tom (Grant's son), hasn't been paddling for quite so long!
He started paddling from a very young age with his Mum and Dad in open canoes. His first experience of white water kayaking and white water open canoeing was on the river Durance in the Southern French Alps in 2014.
In 2015 he passed his BCU 3 Star white water open canoeing award on the river Canche in Northern France.
In the Spring of 2016 he passed his BCU Level 1 Coach award and is now a qualified BCU Open Canoe and kayak coach.
Last Summer he paddled his first grade 4 white water river - the Isere from Gothard to Aime which includes the infamous Aime Rapids.
Nick is a highly experienced British Canoeing Coach.
He has been paddling for many years and is an accomplished white water kayaker and open canoeist.
He has enjoyed paddling many of the white white water rivers in the French Alps and Austria over the years and still has fond memories of his first descent of the river Inn in Austria with Grant way back in 1995.
He has a passion for coaching kayaking and open canoeing and is an excellent eskimo rolling coach.
